A seasoned professional, Bill brings more than 20 years of experience as an agent and broker. With this experience comes a vast knowledge and thorough understanding of the DC area market. Background:
Bill began his career in Washington, DC in 1984. Since then he has seen the area’s real estate market go through multiple changes. Prior to establishing Hounshell Real Estate, Bill worked for ten years for ReMax. As he began to develop a team within ReMax, Bill realized that a stand alone, local, real-estate business offered many advantages for his clients. (See Our Boutique Philosophy) Hounshell Real Estate was established in July 2006.
Based in the Washington, Bill has worked with clients throughout downtown as well as upper Northwest and the Virginia and Maryland suburbs. Bill and his teams have helped clients to buy and sell condos, co-ops, townhouses, and single-family homes. This breadth of experience across the area means that Bill has an innate knowledge and understanding of many Washington area streets, apartment buildings, and neighborhoods.
Bill is Northern Virginia native. He was born in 1956, and raised on a working farm in Front Royal located about an hour’s drive from downtown DC. Bill left Front Royal to join the Marines for four years. He then studied at Old Dominion University and Northern Virginia Community College before entering the real estate industry. In his spare time Bill volunteers with DC’s Perry after-school enrichment program.
